How it works
You’ve seen a Made by human badge on a website, or you want one on yours. Here is exactly what it means and how to get one.
The three claims
A ByHuman profile declares which parts of a website were made by a person instead of AI. You can enable any combination, but at least one is required.
Human design
Visual design and layout made by a human.
Human coding
HTML, CSS, JavaScript and backend written by a human.
Human content
Texts, images and copy created by a human.
Self-declared, not verified
Claims on byhuman.io are self-declared by the website owner. We do not audit or verify them.
Every new entry is reviewed by hand before its profile goes live. The review checks the entry (a real domain, no spam or abuse), not the truth of the claim. And every profile carries a report button, so anyone can flag a claim they believe is false.
From account to published profile
Email and password, nothing else.
Enter your address and set the claims you want to declare.
Pick a style and copy the inline SVG snippet into your footer. It’s available immediately, even while your entry is in review.
Choose your style
One shape (a horizontal pill reading MADE BY HUMAN) in a range of colour presets and sizes. It is a piece of inline SVG: it loads nothing from byhuman.io and works on any website, CMS or theme.
It usually goes in the footer, a colophon or an about page, and links to your public profile, where visitors see exactly which claims you declare. Pick whichever style you like when you get your badge.
